About

Who is behind the network, where we stand and where we are heading.

The starting point

souveraen.network grew out of a simple observation: the question of digital sovereignty comes up ever more often in tenders, customer meetings and board rooms – and is ever more often answered with “that’s not possible”. It is possible. There are European manufacturers for every layer of enterprise IT. What is missing is the structure that joins them into a whole.

The initiative comes from DATA-NG, an IT infrastructure and network specialist from Munich that has implemented European products at customers for years as a system integrator. The idea of doing this together grew from the experience of how much effort it takes to evaluate, procure and integrate these products individually.

Where we stand

The network is in its formation phase. The legal form of a registered cooperative (eG) has been decided; statutes, founding members and registration are being prepared. Until registration, DATA-NG acts as the responsible company.

Two things already exist: the independent product directory souveraenitaet.info as a shared knowledge base, and a circle of manufacturers and partners who support the model and are listed on this site.

Where we are heading

The first phase is about founding members – partners of all categories who want to help shape the model, and manufacturers willing to work with a cooperative instead of individual partners. Purchasing framework agreements, a training programme and the first joint reference projects follow.

Anyone wishing to get involved will find the requirements and a form on the Become a member page. Questions are answered via the contact page.
